A Little of This... A Little of That....

Here's an understatement, Richard always works. He hasn't had a vacation in over 20 years. But now The Man is slowly learning to relax. He actually took a day off last Saturday! I KNOOOWWW! No one was more shocked than I. We took a day trip up to Santa Fe for Indian Market. We had a really nice visit with good friends Pat Pruitt and Marla Allison - artists extraordinaire. It was great to look at such varied artwork and get ideas. Of course, being us, we didn't get but a couple of photos, and not good ones at that. Oh,well. [caption id="attachment_756" align="alignleft" width="168"]Pat in black t-shirt taking care of business Pat in black t-shirt taking care of business[/caption] [caption id="attachment_757" align="alignleft" width="168"]The beautiful Marla enchanting a fan. The beautiful Marla enchanting a fan.[/caption] Once we got home it was back to work but the break did us good and the rain storm the next day was lovely. It rained enough above us to cause our little arroyo by the house to run. We love when this happens, and wish it weren't so rare. [caption id="attachment_766" align="alignright" width="572"]Love the sound of gurgling water, even if it is run-off. Love the sound of gurgling water, even if it is run-off.[/caption] G7 in Vegas, aka the USN show, is next weekend and Richard has been busy getting knives ready for it. In a bit I'll write a post about the Open Bid knife. In case anyone is interested.

G7 is almost here

And Richard is getting things done. Up for Open Bid is this beauty: [caption id="attachment_760" align="alignright" width="660"]G7 Open Bid G7 Open Bid[/caption] 20150827_134728 20150827_134840 This Axiom features Zirc bolsters and stand-offs, Silver Lightning Strike Carbon Fiber, a blackened clip, Ti pivot, caged bearings, and Chad Nichols StarFire damascus blade. Richard loves this damascus. Open bid is open to all, need not be present to bid. I will accept bids starting Friday, September 4 when G7 opens. Bidding will close at 2:00 PM, Las Vegas time, on Saturday, September 5. I can take bids on our Facebook post, FB messages, text, email, or proxy if anyone so chooses. I will update the FB page and under comments here as price changes. Bidding will be in $25 increments. Our phone number is 575-838-7237, email: r.s.rogersknives@gmail.com. We accept checks or PayPal. Starting bid is $1000.

And the Winning Numbers are......

Random generator chose #4 and #24 or Jan J. and Rob P. I have not heard back from Rob yet, but if he is no longer interested in the bronze I will redraw and let you all know. Thank you all for your continued interest and support of what Richard does. We truly appreciate you.

Monday Morning Blues...

And Bronze.  That's right, let's start out the week with a little sharpy goodness (see what I did there! ;0).  Two Shortys are available for sale starting today.  One has bronze lightning strike carbon fiber with bronze anodizing. It is $550 + shipping.  The other is carbon fiber with light blue anodizing at $525 + shipping.  Both have a kwaiken blade and bearings.  For your viewing pleasure pictures are attached. [caption id="attachment_741" align="alignright" width="300"]Light blue anodizing on this Shorty Light blue anodizing on this Shorty[/caption]

Email to availableknife@yahoo.com. Use 'Blue' or 'Bronze' in subject line to designate which knife you prefer. If you want a chance at either use 'Both'.  I will pick the two winners tomorrow morning. Please only one entry per person, I do check and delete if necessary but it takes more time and makes for an unhappy Sally! ;) As always, we take PayPal, check or money order.

And the winner is....

Congratulations to lucky #90! Oh, that would be Bob Jordan by name. He won the new Axiom! Thank you to everyone that played along; we truly appreciate all your enthusiasm and support.

Introducing the Axiom

Another model to be added to the line-up is the new Axiom. Richard wanted something that was a little bit bigger than the Vector but with a 3.5 inch blade. Thus, we have : [caption id="attachment_726" align="aligncenter" width="300"]The Axiom The Axiom[/caption] [caption id="attachment_727" align="aligncenter" width="300"]Back view of the Axiom Back view of the Axiom[/caption] The handles are textured G-10, blade material is CTS-XHP, and the Ti screws, pivot, liners and clip have been anodized blue. Inside on the liners is the newly marked serial number. And the R logo is on the flipper tab. The price for this knife is $650. This knife will be available by lottery. Send an email to availableknife@yahoo.com between now and Thursday evening. I will use Random Number.org to pick a winner on Friday morning. We accept PayPal, check or money order. One entry per person. Only emails to the yahoo address will be considered. Thank you.

It's Here...

Blade starts at noon tomorrow.  We have a few Flickers, ARCs, beads, grenades, sticker packs, and patches available FCFS. Open Bid is open to all.   50 lottery tickets will be available on Friday as well as Saturday. Stop by Table 2-D, right near the main entrance.  Looking forward to seeing y'all!

Blade Show 2015

Yikes, it's that time of year already. No wonder Richard has been holed up in his shop for hours on end; he's been churning out knives for the show. If you're in Atlanta on June 5-7 please come visit us.  We will be at a new table yet again -- look for us at Table  2-D - almost back to our original place. We will have 8 knives for sale under a lottery, 1 lotto knife open only to Rogers Rangers, one Open Bid knife open to all, and a few knives and swag available as first come, first served. Oh, we will also have a couple of prototypes to fondle. We will start selling at noon on Friday, lottery drawings will be at 2:30 on Saturday, and Open Bid will end at 4:00 on Saturday. We will be using the handy-dandy cool tickets modeled from the Burnley Beep Beep lotteries. Aren't they clever and fun! [caption id="attachment_711" align="aligncenter" width="300"]Only gotta write your name once! Only gotta write your name once![/caption] After a lot of thought we have decided that attendance is necessary in order to participate in the lotteries. We would like to be able to allow all interested parties but it would just cause too much work and problems on our end; sorry. The lottery tickets are limited so one ticket per person. There will be 50 tickets available Friday and 50 on Saturday -  if you'd like a chance at a knife please don't wait too late in the day to visit our table. Open Bid will be available to everyone interested, however.  Anyone, whether in attendance or not, will have a chance to bid on the knife.  You can make contact with me either by email, text, or pm on FB. Email to the address posted on the sidebar above, or if you prefer text email me and I will give you my number. We are assuming we can get wi-fi in the building but sometimes it is very spotty.  Let me know your highest bid & I will proxy bid by $50 increments. I will also try to update the FB page and the website.  I can let you know by pm when it gets to certain numbers. Opening bid is $1000. Bet you'd like to know what the Open Bid knife is, huh?! So let me tell ya.... it is a Mid-size 4F with heat-colored Timascus bolsters, Nicholls Ladder Damascus blade, Silver Lightning Strike Carbon Fiber handles, titanium fittings, Zirc stand-offs, and beveled and polished edges. Wanna see?..... [caption id="attachment_712" align="alignleft" width="300"]Open Bid knife Open Bid knife[/caption] 20150530_15233720150530_152257 The Rangers knife has yet to be determined. Once the choice is made we will post pictures on the FB group page with details. But please be aware this is also only available to those Rangers in attendance, unless a Ranger wants to put in his extra ticket in your name.

2 Vectors and an ARC....

[caption id="attachment_696" align="aligncenter" width="300"]20150416_103624 Both Vectors are the same size. The bottom one only appears larger due to the angle of the photo.[/caption] Sounds like a math class but in this case it's not. (thank goodness, as math was my least favorite subject.) The Vector at top of photo has a CPM-154 stonewashed blade, Titanium stonewashed scales, blue anodized Titanium screws, pivot, and stand-offs. The price is $700. The price is $500. This knife will be available for sale, Saturday, April 18, starting at 12:01 AM, ending at 9:00 PM (Mountain Standard Time). Email to availableknife@yahoo.com. I will use a Random Number Generator to pick the winner at 9:10 PM. The Vector at the bottom of photo is for all you peacocks out there. It has a CPM-154 blade, two-tone blue and purple anodized Titanium scales, purple anodized Titanium hardware (screws, pivot, stand-offs), and polished edges. The price is $750. This knife will be available for sale, Sunday, April 19, starting at 12:01 AM, ending at 9:00 PM (Mountain Standard Time). Email to availableknife@yahoo.com.
